Senior Asst Prof. Yancho Zarev is graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Medical University in 2011.

Since 2021, he is Ch. Senior Asst Prof at the Department of Pharmacognosy.

He defended his PhD degree in Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry on the topic “Biotechnological and phytochemical study of plants with antitumor and antigenotoxic activity.”

He currently holds the position of Senior Asst Prof at the Department of Pharmacognosy.

Participates in the training on “Pharmacognosy – II”.

He is the author of 12 publications, with 29 citations in indexed journals in J. Citation Reports by Clarivate, Scopus by Elsevier, Web of science by Clavirate and Google scholar.

Expert in the field of plant biotechnology, isolation and identification using spectroscopic methods of biologically active natural compounds.

Participant in 6 research projects funded by Medical University – Sofia, as well as by the Ministry of Education and Science.
