Assistant professor Teodora Popova graduated from Faculty of Pharmacy at Medical University of Sofia in 2013. Her diploma thesis on Drug Technology was jointly developed by Anhalt University of Applied Science, Koethen, Germany, thanks to the “Erasmus” program.

Since 2014 she has been working as Assistant professor in the Department of “Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy”. She defended PhD in Pharmaceutical technology and the dissertation theme is: “Development and characterization of modified-release matrix pellet systems of montelukast sodium prepared by the wet extrusion and spheronization process”.

Since 2020 she has a specialty of Pharmaceutical Technology acquired according to the post-graduate education at Medical University of Sofia.

At the moment she is an Assistant Professor at the department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy.

She takes part in the training and exam sessions for Pharmaceutical Technology Part I, Part II and Biopharmacy in Bulgarian and English.

The scientific researches and contributions of Assist. Prof. Popova are in the area of the following pharmaceutical and/or medical science and practice: development and characterization of nano-sized drug delivery systems, multiparticulate drug dosage forms, modified drug release, chronopharmacy, etc.

She is an author and co-author of many publications with numerous citations in journal indexed by J. Citation Reports by Clarivate, Scopus by Elsevier, Web of science by Clavirate, Google scholar and others.

She takes part in a number of scientific projects with the financial support of Medical University-Sofia, Found Scientific Researches and others.

Assist. Prof. Popova is a member of professional scientific organizations such as: Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union (BPhU), Bulgarian Association of Pharmaceutical Technology (BAPhT).
