Associate Professor Zlatina Kokanova-Nedialkova, PhD graduated from Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University of Sofia in 2003. She has been a PhD student at the Department of “Pharmacognosy” since 2007, an Assistant Professor since 2012, а Chief Assistant Professor since 2013 and an Associate Professor since 2022.
Zlatina Kokanova-Nedialkova defended her PhD thesis in “Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry” on “Phytochemical study of Chenopodium foliosum Asch.” in 2012. She has a specialty in “Medicinal plants and phytopharmaceutical products” acquired at Medical University of Sofia.
She currently holds the position of Associate Professor at the Department of “Pharmacognosy” and participates in the training of “Pharmacognosy” in both Bulgarian and English.
The research work and the contributions of Assoc. Prof. Zlatina Kokanova-Nedialkova are in the following areas: phytochemical study of plant species, UHPLC-HRMS characterization of extracts and fractions, pharmacological characterization of isolated substances and development of methods for their quantification in plants and plant extracts.
Assoc. Prof. Zlatina Kokanova-Nedialkova is the author of over 40 publications and co-author of 2 textbooks with over 400 citations in indexed journals in J. Citation Reports by Clarivate, Scopus by Elsevier, Web of science by Clavirate, Google scholar and others.
She is a participant in over 10 scientific projects, funded by the Medical University of Sofia and the Ministry of Education.
Assoc. Prof. Zlatina Kokanova-Nedialkova is a reviewer for scientific journals – Natural Product Research, Phytochemical Analysis, Pharmacia, etc.
She is a member of “Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union”, “Bulgarian Scientific Society of Pharmacy” and “Bulgarian Phytochemical Association”.
