Assoc. Prof. Tsvetanka Zhivkova graduated from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy in 1980. Since 1982 she has been an assistant professor, and since 2003 – an associate professor at the Department of Chemistry. Asquired PhD in Pharmacy with a thesis on “Some aspects of the metabolism of the cholinesterase inhibitor galanthamine and the antiepileptic drug carbamazepine.” Acquired  specialization in Medical Chemistry in Medical University-Sofia. Currently associated professor at the Department of Chemistry. Participates in the teaching in “Physical Chemistry with Colloid Chemistry” and “Biopharmacy and Pharmacokinetics”.

The research and the scientific contributions of assoc. prof. Tsvetanka Zhivkova are in the following fields of the pharmaceutical science and practice:  pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism, high performance affinity liquid chromatography, drug design. Author of 35 scientific articles, 5 university textbooks and 2 monographs with 320 citations in indexed journals according to Scopus.

Participant in 5 scientific projects, funded by  Medical University – Sofia and Bulgarian National Science Fund.

Reviewer for scientific journals – Pharmacia, Pharmaceutics, Molecules, Journal of biopharmacy and pharmacokinetics, etc.
