Prof. Ivan Dimitrov holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy and a PhD in physical chemistry. His research focuses on drug design and bioinformatics. He has authored over 50 publications with more than 2100 citations (h-index 18) and co-authored three textbooks in both Bulgarian and English. He has supervised three PhD students who have successfully defended their theses. He has contributed to developing several web applications for predicting protein allergenicity and immunogenicity, which are widely used by the scientific community. He is a bioinformatics expert and a member of the Working Group on Food and Feed within the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) GMO Panel. He is also a member of the Bulgarian Scientific Pharmaceutical Society. Prof. Dimitrov received the SIGNUM LAUDIS with ribbon in 2023, in recognition of his significant contributions to the operation and growth of the Medical University of Sofia.
