Assist. prof. Ivan Stambolov, PhD graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical University of Sofia in 2020.
Since 2021, he has been an assistant professor at the Department of Pharmacognosy. In 2025, he defended his doctoral dissertation in pharmacognosy and phytochemistry on “Secondary metabolites from Astragalus glycyphyllos L. and Astragalus glycyphylloides DC (Fabaceae)”.
He participates in the training in Pharmacognosy
The scientific research work and contributions of assist. prof. Ivan Stambolov, PhD are in the following areas of pharmaceutical practice: pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, pharmacological action of natural products.
He is a co-author of 8 publications with over 10 citations in indexed journals in J. Citation Reports of Clarivate, Scopus of Elsevier, Web of science of Clavirate and Google Scholar.
He is a participant in 5 scientific projects funded by the Council of Medical Science at the Medical University – Sofia and the European Union. Reviewer for scientific journals, referred and indexed in Scopus of Elsevier and Web of science of Clavirate.
He is a member of the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union, the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Pharmacy, the Bulgarian Phytochemical Society and the Phytochemical Society of Europe.
