Assoc. Prof. Reneta Slavova Gevrenova has graduated Faculty of Pharmacy, Higher Medical Institute-Sofia in 1985.
In 1991, she started as an Assistant at Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, and since 2013 she is Associated Professor.
Her PhD thesis is in doctoral program „Pharmacognosy and phytochemistry” on topic: “Study of GOTCAB saponins from Gypsophila L. genus (Caryophyllaceae)” and DSc thesis is in doctoral program “Pharmacology, (incl. pharmacokinetics and chemotherapy) on topic “Metabolite profiling and pharmacological characterization of species from Gypsophila L. genus (Caryophyllaceae)”.
R. Gevrenova is a Master in Science in „Medicinal plants and Natural Products” at Medical University, Sofia.
In presence, she is Assoc. Professor at Department of Pharmacognosy and participates in the teaching/practice on “Pharmaceutical botany” in Bulgarian and English, and a supervisor of master and PhD thesis. She specializes as a guest professor (2002-2013) at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lorraine – Nancy and University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne – Reims (France).
Her scientific research competence is in the field of pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical botany, medicinal plants, plant metabolomics, liquid chromatography, spectral methods, phytopharmacology.
She is an author of more than 120 scientific publications (105 indexed in Scopus), 2 textbook, 1090 citations in indexed journals in Scopus of Elsevier (H index 22, Scopus).
She is a supervisor of international projects АUF RESCI-ECO (2024-2025 г.) (Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie) and RILA under Bulgaria-France bilateral cooperation (2022-2023), and 6 projects funded by Medical Science Council, MU-Sofia. She participates in 22 projects funded by MU-Sofia, 3 projects funded by The Bulgarian National Science Fund, 1 project of the European Commission Directive III (E-1) and a project No. BG-RRP-2.004-0004-C01 European Union NextGenerationEU (2023-2026).
Guest-editor in PLANTS, reviewer in scientific journals from Еlsevier, Taylor & Francis.
Member of the Association for the Medical and Aromatic Plants of Southeast European Countries (AMAPSEC), Bulgarian Phytochemical Society, Bulgarian Scientific Pharmaceutical Society, Bulgarian Toxicology Society, EuroTox
Participant in the Erasmus Program in Nancy (France).
Speaks French, English, and Russian.
