Prof. Vanya Maslarska graduated in 1994 from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy-Sofia as a chemical engineer. Since 1995 to the present, she has been successively an assistant, senior and chief assistant, associate professor and professor in the Department of Chemistry. She defended her doctoral dissertation in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 2010. Prof. Maslarska holds specialities in “Theoretical Basics of Medical Chemistry” and “Drug Analysis” acquired in postgraduate studies at MU-Sofia. She teaches Analytical Chemistry for Masters in Pharmacy and Analysis of Drugs and Metabolites in Biological Media module from Postgraduate Training in “Clinical Pharmacy”. The scientific interests of Prof. Maslarska are in the fields of Drug Analysis, Bioanalysis, application of instrumental methods – chromatographic, spectral and electrochemical in the characterization of newly synthesized compounds and evaluation of drug substances and forms; analysis of metabolites in biological media; chemometric approaches in analytical chemistry; analytical documentation, standardization files; validation of analytical methods in accordance with the requirements of good laboratory practice. Reviewer for scientific journals – Pharmacia, Reviews in Analytical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry Letters, Pharmaceutics, European Journal of Chemistry, etc. Member of the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Pharmacy.
