Pharmacia receives its first Journal Impact Factor
The latest Journal Citation Reports™ – released by Clarivate in late June 2023 – features Pharmacia, the official journal of the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Science Society since 1954, amongst the scholarly titles making use of the Journal Impact Factor (JIF) citation metric by Web of Science (WoS).
The 2022 Journal Impact Factor score – meant to reflect the times 2022 publications indexed by WoS have cited research and review articles published in Pharmacia in 2020 and 2021 – currently stands at 1.1. For the time being, Clarivate postpones the assignment of quartiles to journals that have just received their first JIF.
“The development of Pharmacia in the last years is a result from the successful collaboration between the Bulgarian Scientific Pharmaceutical Society, Pensoft and the ARPHA publishing platform. Receiving an Impact Factor of 1.1 proves the main goal of the journal – to contribute to the development of pharmaceutical science. This is a responsibility that we will continue to assert in the future.”
says Editor-in-Chief Prof Plamen Peikov, PhD, Faculty of Pharmacy, Medical University – Sofia (Bulgaria).
Earlier in June, Pharmacia enjoyed another excellent result after it received a Scopus CiteScore of 2.4 and reached Q2 in the Pharmacy category.
Unlike WoS, the Scopus metric counts citations received over the last four complete years to articles, reviews, conference papers, book chapters and data papers published in the same period. The list of journals in the Scopus database also differs from the ones indexed by WoS.
